Sheikh Anwarul Haq Anwar assumed the role of Director-General of the Office of Administrative Affairs at the Council of Ministers in July 2022. Prior to this appointment, he served as the Deputy Director-General for the Coordination of Government Affairs within the same institution. Born in 1966 to Mohammad Gul, he received his early education in Zaimany area of Mohammd Noorkhel, his home village in Wardak province, before moving to Peshawar, Pakistan, where he pursued religious studies at Jamai Uloom Imdad madrassa. Previously, Noorul Haq Anwar taught religious studies at various madrassas and held multiple positions under the Taliban in Wardak province, including as district governor of Jalrez, brigade commander, provincial military chief, and deputy governor. Additionally, he served as the provincial police chief of Nangarhar province, deputy head of administration of the Taliban's Invitation and Guidance Commission, and deputy chief of staff of the Office of the Emir.
