Gul Mat Khan Zadran has reportedly been serving as the Taliban-appointed Consul General in Istanbul, Turkiye, since February 2023. Although Turkiye has not formally recognized the Taliban government, it has permitted the official to represent the Taliban's government as a caretaker of the Afghan Consulate General in Istanbul.
