Mawlawi Abdul Rahman Haqqani has been serving as Governor of Baghlan since his appointment in May 2023. Before assuming his current role, he served as the Deputy Minister for Technical Affairs at the Ministry of Borders and Tribal Affairs from March 2022 to May 2023. Preceding his ministerial position, he was the Chief of Staff of the 207 Al-Farooq Military Corps in Herat province.
