Mawlawi Din Mohammad Haqbeen has been in the role of Deputy Minister for Finance and Administration at the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs since early March 2022. His formative education took place in his home village of Balkhelo, under the guidance of his late father, Raz Mohammad. Subsequently, he pursued studies in various madrassas in Pakistan, including Siraj-ul-Islam Kahi, Minhaj-ul-Uloom in Hangu, Darul-Uloom Al-Arabiya in Tal, and Hidayat-ul-Salam in Takht Bayi. At Hidayat-ul-Salam in Takht Bayi, he studied under notable figures such as Sheikh Hazrat Mawlana Sher Ali Shah Madani, Sheikh Hazrat Mawlana Allah Noor Zadran Haqqani, and Sheikh Hazrat Mawlana Abdul Aziz Khan Haqqani. Additionally, he received guidance from Sheikh Tahir al-Anwar Deobandi and Sheikh Hazrat Mawlana Inayatullah Deobandi. Later, he pursued studies in hadiths at the Manbe-al-Uloom madrassa in Miranshah, Pakistan, founded by Mawlawi Jalaluddin Haqqani, the founding leader of the Haqqani Network. During the Afghan jihad against the Soviets, Din Mohammad Haqbeen served under Mawlawi Jalaluddin Haqqani and reported to Mawlawi Atiqullah Haqqani, the late Haqqani commander. Post-2001, his tribe, Mangal, formed an association with the Taliban named the Ithadiya Tulabah Ahl al-Sunnah wal Jamaat Mangal and began to actively support the Taliban's efforts against the U.S./NATO and Afghan forces. Subsequently, he held significant positions with the Taliban, such as district governor in Baraki Barak (Logar province), Surobi district (Kabul province), and Spin Boldak district (Kandahar province). Additionally, he served as the Mayor of Kandahar and later as the Governor of Maidan-Wardak and Helmand provinces.
