Mawlawi Hesamuddin Sabiri, also recognized as Hesamuddin Akhundzada, has been serving as the Deputy Minister of Finance and Administration at the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum since mid-August 2024. Before assuming this role, he led the Directorate of Personnel and Organizational Reforms at the Office of Administrative Affairs within the Taliban's Council of Ministers. During the 1990s, he reportedly served as Deputy Minister of Intelligence and later actively engaged in the Taliban's fundraising activities in the Gulf countries. Born in the early 1960s, he is reportedly listed on the United Nations sanctions list.
