Mawlawi Mohammad Essa Yasin Akhund briefly held the position of Governor of Kabul province from October 23 until his repacement in early December 2022. Later, he held the position of Deputy Commander of the 217 Omari Military Corps in Kunduz province. Mawlawi Essa Yasin has also served as a Commanding Officer of the General Support Brigade at the Ministry of National Defense, overseeing the provision of weapons, equipment, and food supply to the Taliban's security forces.
