Mohammad Salim Haqqani currently serves as a Senior Legal Advisor at the Ministry of Interior. A veteran of the Taliban's Peshawar Shura, he was reportedly a deputy commander under Mawlawi Ezzatullah Haqqani during the Taliban's insurgency. Ezzatullah Haqqani, who is sanctioned by the United Nations under the designation TAi.064, is currently the Deputy Auditor General for Finance at the Supreme Audit Office (SAO) in the Taliban's government.
During the 1990s, Salim Haqqani served as the Deputy Minister of Preventing Vice and Propagating Virtue under the first Taliban regime. Born in 1967, he is listed on the United Nations sanctions list under the designation TAi.079.
