Mawlawi Nooruddin Omair was appointed Deputy Minister for Finance and Administration at the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock in mid-January 2026.
Prior to this appointment, he served as commander of the First Brigade under the 209 Al-Fatah Military Corps from September 2025. Earlier, he held the post of Deputy Governor of Jawzjan province from June 2023 to September 2025. From October 2022 to June 2023, he served as Director General of Construction and Properties at the Ministry of National Defense. He had previously served briefly as Deputy Minister of Public Works from March to October 2022 and earlier as Governor of Takhar province.
Before the Taliban’s return to power, Nooruddin Omair was a member of the Taliban’s Political Office in Doha, Qatar.
