Mawlawi Qudratullah Jamal was appointed Deputy Minister for Finance and Administrative Affairs at the Ministry of Information and Culture in early July 2024. Before assuming this role, he served as Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce from March 2022. He also held the position of Auditor General at the Supreme Audit Office (SAO) from November 2021 to March 2022.
A former member of the Taliban's Supreme Council and Culture Commission, he reportedly served as Minister of Information during the Taliban regime in the 1990s, succeeding Amir Khan Muttaqi, who currently serves as the Taliban's foreign minister.
