Mawlawi Qudratullah Jamal was appointed as Deputy Minister for Finance and Administrative Affairs at the Ministry of Information and Culture in early July 2024. Before assuming this role, he served as Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce since March 2022. Prior to that, he held the role of Auditor General at the Supreme Audit Office (SAO) from November 2021 to March 2022. A former member of the Taliban's Supreme Council and Culture Commission, he reportedly served as Minister of Information under the Taliban regime in the 1990s, succeeding Amir Khan Muttaqi, who presently serves as the Taliban's foreign minister. Born in 1963, Qudratullah Jamal is listed on the UN's sanctions list under the designation TAi.047.
