Qari Aminullah Tayeb was appointed Provincial Chief of Police in Paktika Province in late January 2026. Prior to this appointment, he served as Deputy Commander of the Support Brigade within the Ministry of Defense. Earlier, he was Deputy Governor of Badakhshan province, a position he held from January 2024. Before that, he served as Deputy Commander of the 313 Central Military Corps in Kabul province from late October 2022 to December 2023. He also previously held the role of Chief of Staff of the First Border Brigade under the 217 Omari Military Corps, based in Kunduz province.
