Qari Din Mohammad Hanif, a longtime member of the Taliban’s leadership council, has served as Minister of Economy since September 2021.
His extensive experience history with the Taliban dates back to the 1990s, when he served as Minister of Planning and Minister of Higher Education under the first Taliban regime. Beyond his ministerial roles, he oversaw Taliban activities in the northern provinces of Badakhshan and Takhar.
