Khalid Zadran has held the position of spokesperson for the Kabul Police Command since late 2021. In a March 2024 interview with Al Jazeera News Network, Khalid Zadran, reportedly born in 1991, self-identified as a second-generation Taliban member. He recounted returning to his hometown of Khost in eastern Afghanistan in 2001, where his family's opposition to American involvement led him to align with the Taliban. Dropping out of school in fifth grade, he joined the Taliban ranks and reportedly distributed their propaganda material against the Afghan government and U.S./NATO forces. By 2008, he was actively involved in the Taliban's operations against foreign forces. Notably, he distinguishes himself from many of his Taliban peers by ensuring his children attend modern schools.
