Mawlawi Ahmadullah Wasiq assumed the position of Director General of Physical Training and National Olympic Committee in August 2023. Before this appointment, he served as the Director-General of Radio Television Afghanistan (RTA), the state-owned national media outlet, and held a public relations role within the Ministry of Information and Culture. In the past, he has served as a spokesperson during the Taliban's insurgency and was reportedly captured in the Shahjoy district of Zabul province, and was subsequently held in the Bagram detention facility.
