Mawlawi Aminullah Zubair, also known as Haji Aman Obaid, is a veteran Taliban military commander who has served as Governor of Kabul province since late November 2023. Before assuming this position, he was Governor of Daikundi province.
During the Taliban insurgency, he was active in northern Afghanistan, where he led military operations in Daikundi and Baghlan provinces. He is considered a close confidant of Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the Taliban’s Deputy Prime Minister, as well as the group’s emir.
