Mawlawi Inayatullah Shuja was appointed Governor of Uruzgan province in late February 2024. Prior to this assignment, he served as the Deputy Governor of Logar province, a position he held since September 2022. Earlier, he briefly served as Governor of Logar province from March to September 2022, before being demoted to the deputy governor position within the same province. Preceding these roles, Inayatullah Shuja was the Deputy Minister of the National Disaster Management Authority from November 2021 to March 2022.
