Mullah Abdul Ghaffar Mohammadi is currently serving as the Commander of the Air Force General Command within the Taliban's Ministry of National Defense. Before assuming this role on October 26, 2022, he served as the Deputy Commander of the 205 Al-Badr Military Corps in Kandahar Province from February to October 2022. Prior to that, he held the position of Chief of Police in Kandahar province. Abdul Ghaffar Mohammadi has also previously served as a brigade and operations commander in the Taliban's insurgency. Reports suggest that he is a close associate of Defense Minister Mullah Mohammad Yaqoob.
