Qari Mohammad Ismail Rasikh, a notable figure as one of the few ethnic Turkmen in senior positions within the Taliban's government, currently holds the position of Commander of the 203 Mansoori Military Corps in Gardez, Paktia province. This military command was formerly known as the 203 Thunder Military Corps, which the Taliban renamed after their takeover. Before assuming his current role, Qari Ismail Rasikh served as the Governor of Jawzjan province from October 2022 to May 2023. Before that, his appointments included a brief tenure as the provincial Chief of Police in Jawzjan from September to October 2022, and as the Governor of Takhar province from March to September 2022. Prior to that, he held the position of Deputy Commander of the 217 Omari Military Corps in Kunduz province. During the Taliban's insurgency in the past, Qari Rasikh served as the Taliban’s shadow governor in Takhar province.
