Mawlawi Sher Ahmad Haqqani was appointed Minister of Information and Culture in early September 2025. Before assuming this position, he served as Governor of Laghman province from late February 2024 to September 2025, and before that, as Governor of Nuristan province from May 2023 to February 2024. Earlier, he was the Deputy Governor of Wardak province.
