Mawlawi Obaidullah Aminzada was appointed Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs in February 2025. Prior to this, he served as the Governor of Takhar province, a position he assumed in February 2022. Prior to this role, he was the Governor of Parwan province from February 24, 2022 to August 28, 2023.
Notably, during his tenure as Parwan's provincial governor, he reportedly changed the name of Parwan’s provincial capital from “Charikar” to “Imam Abu Hanifa,” the founder of the Hanafi school of Sunni jurisprudence. Before the Taliban's takeover, Aminzada held the position of the head of the military commission in Badakhshan province.
